Spring Into Winter Band Programs

When the weather outside turns frightful, joining Harrison indoor winter band programs can be delightful. Harrison Bands offer a range of small group performance programs in the winter and spring featuring opportunities to engage in your favorite activities or gain new experiences. Though Covid-19 restrictions may impact our performance and competition plans in 2021, we’re working hard to give our members a rich and safe experience while following all guidelines.

Harrison Indoor Percussion Ensemble (HIPE) is combining an information and organization meeting for all interested students with it’s first rehearsal on Tuesday, December 8th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Any students are welcome to attend to learn more, whether they choose to join or not. HIPE is open to all students, not just percussionists. During the season, regular rehearsals are scheduled Tuesdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:30 PM (Drumline), and Thursdays, 5:45 – 7:15 PM (Advanced Drumline). Parents and students can learn more in advance by watching this informational video about the 2020-21 program. An enrollment packet is available for download here with more information, schedules and fees.

HIPE combines music performance, marching, and theater, performing throughout the Spring semester. Our HIPE groups have competed at the WGI World Championships and won the Georgia Indoor Percussion Association class championship.

Our Winter Guard has a long and distinguished performance history, including multiple appearances in the Winter Guard International championship finals and being named SAPA National Class Champion. For those interested in performance without competition, Harrison Jazz Ensembles is an extra curricular activity that consists of three separate big band groups. Students should check with band directors to learn more about participation in Jazz Ensembles.
