The award-winning Harrison High School Marching Band will compete in Music for All’s Bands of America (BOA) Orlando, Florida, Regional Championship at Camping World Stadium on October 13, 2018.
The BOA Championship will feature 31 high school marching bands in the preliminary competition, evaluated by a panel of nationally-recognized music educators and marching band experts. The top 10 bands will advance to the evening finals competition, which will ultimately name the Regional Champion. This is the first Bands of America Regional Championship to be held in Orlando.
Fresh off their win at the 2018 BOA Jacksonville Regional Championship, the Marching Hoyas will be performing their award-winning 2018 show “Electropolis,” the story of a world overrun by technology. Lead by Drum Majors Sara Kate Frost, Emily Zant, and Madelyn Tanner, this year’s show features music from film composer Ennio Morricone, pop artists Daft Punk, and classical composer Sergei Prokofiev.
“We are looking forward another special and exciting weekend in Orlando. This Bands of America Regional will be highly competitive and entertaining. We also look forward to celebrating our achievements with our band family in the ‘happiest place on Earth’, Disney World!” said Director of Bands Josh Ray.
The University of Miami Marching Band will perform in exhibition at the conclusion of the preliminary competition and the Marching Knights of Central Florida University will perform at the conclusion of the finals competition.
The preliminary competition begins at 7:15 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 4:45 p.m. Gates will open for the finals at 7:00 p.m. with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m. All times are tentative pending the final schedule of performing bands. Current times will be listed at:
