This year’s show, “Variations on a Dream,” invites the audience to enter through doors into a world where imagination takes flight! The show unfolds across the field in a realm of daydreams, where clouds swirl, colors dance, and creativity knows no bounds. The show features beautiful costuming, dynamic props, and stunning visual effects, creating an immersive experience that feels like drifting through the clouds in a dreamscape.
The musical journey is equally enchanting, weaving together iconic and evocative contemporary and classical pieces that explore themes such as wonder, hope, and limitless possibility:
• “Imagine” by John Lennon
• “Once Upon a Dream” by Lana Del Rey
• “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Felix Mendelssohn
• “One Day I’ll Fly Away” by Will Jennings and Joe Sample
• “Pure Imagination” by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley
“Variations on a Daydream” is more than a performance—it’s an escape through the doors of imagination into a world where creativity reigns and dreams soar.
The show features several remarkable moments, including a captivating soprano solo that gracefully weaves throughout the opening and closing sections, a lilting and harmonious trombone duet, and a sousaphone solo that transforms into a piccolo solo. In addition, the wind section collaborates with the color guard in an impressive flag routine. The show concludes with a winged bicycle swooping across the field to a house drifting up on hot air balloon and an inspirational reminder for all of us to “Keep Dreaming.”
Harrison Marching Band will next compete at BOA Southeastern Regional at Cass High School in White, GA on November 1st. Click here for more details.
