Harrison Band Welcomes Krista Berezo (officially)

Although Mrs Berezo has been with us since the second week of Band Camp, we wish to officially welcome her to the Harrison Band Family!

Krista Berezo, Assistant Band Director

Mrs. Berezo Joined the Harrison Band faculty in 2012. She recently finished her master’s degree in clarinet performance in the studio of Dr. Kenneth Long at Georgia State University, where she sat principle chair in the Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble.

She began her clarinet studies at the age of ten in San Diego, CA. In the summer of 1999, she moved to Marietta, GA where she later attended Pope High School. She continued studying clarinet privately, was involved in the marching band and the leadership team, and participated in numerous honor bands and the all-state band. After graduating from high school in 2006, Mrs. Berezo enrolled in the studio of Dr. D. Ray McClellan where she spent one year of music education study at the University of Georgia. In the fall of 2007, she transferred to Georgia State University where she became actively involved in CMENC as vice-president and president and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in music education in the spring of 2010.

While finishing her master’s program, Mrs. Berezo has maintained a private clarinet studio and frequently taught sectionals and master classes at local middle and high schools. Currently she is a member of GMEA and NAfME and resides with her husband, Andrew, in Woodstock, GA
